Spires Family | Eagle Point, OR Family Portrait Photographer

Christie contacted me to do photos both for their immediate family, and also as a larger group of extended family that was in town for a limited amount of time. When we scheduled the session towards the end of October, I think we were both expecting perfect fall weather. However, 2012 brought us some of the warmest fall weather that I can recall...which is how it came to be that we were shooting a fall session in 100+ degree weather! In fact, had I not been there myself, I think I would have actually thought that this was a spring session--there's no sign of fall at all!

I've said it before and I'll say it again--I am a *sucker* for black and white photos. They are by far my favorite--there's something just so emotion-filled and classic about them. So, it's not uncommon at all for me to give clients some of my favorite images in both color and black and white. This is one such example--which do you prefer?

Madison's Third Birthday | Southern Oregon Portrait Photographer

Growing up, there were very few things that I loved as much as going to the carnival that our elementary school held every fall. There was so much to do--I felt like a kid in a candy store, and with all the treats that were available, I sort of was! So, when Hollie told me that she was planning a carnival-themed birthday party for her daughter Madison's third birthday, I knew it was going to be amazing!

Hollie certainly delivered--she included so many amazing little details, and such fun things for all the kids in attendance...I mean, who doesn't love a giant bounce house or two?! Justin and I may or may not have discussed how we could get all the kiddos out of the bounce house so that we could have a turn ;)

I've photographed Madi a number of times before, but I've never had the chance to take a photo of the whole family, and I'm so glad that I stole them away for a quick family shot this time. I'm a firm believer that every kiddo needs a birthday photo with their parents every single year!

Introducing Josiah | Medford, Oregon Newborn Photographer

I've wanted to try newborn photography for a couple of years now. When I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter, I figured that she could be my first test subject. All you other moms out there are probably chuckling to yourselves right now, and rightfully so--I hardly remember the first two weeks after Lizzy was born (newborn photos are ideally done within 14 days of birth), and I certainly didn't feel up for a photography session!

This spring, one of my prior co-workers was due with her second child. I asked her if I could come and try my hand at newborn photography on her 10 day old son Josiah. She agreed, and I'm so glad she did...I'm kind of smitten with this whole newborn photography thing!

Casebeer Valentine Portraits | White City, Oregon Portrait Photographer

If you're a reader of this blog, the Casebeer family should be familiar faces to you--I've had the opportunity to shoot both family portraits and child portraits for this sweet family in the past! Kiersti contacted me about doing a special Valentine's themed session for her husband's birthday, which just so happens to be on Valentine's Day!

It's so fun to watch these kiddos grow up and see their personalities really starting to shine!

Sweet Madi | Medford, Oregon Children's Portrait Photographer

I shot Madi for the first time when she was about 8 months old. Madi was actually my very first session with someone that I didn't already know, and BOY was I nervous! I've done pictures of Madi twice since then, and have loved seeing her sweet personality develop!
